Our Cattery can accommodate up to 36 cats. We have 3 dormitories in which each cat has his or her own house, and each dormitory has it's own play area with shelves to climb on. We let the cats out in small, compatible groups so that they don't feel crowded, and as it is neutral territory they don't quarrel. From the play areas they can look into the trees or over the hills and dream of how to catch the birds!
Each cat's house contains a bed with a sheepskin and cuddle rugs up on their sleeping shelf, a litter tray, and fresh water. At night we shut the outside door of each dormitory and pull the cat's curtains so that they are private while they eat their dinner and sleep.
By all means bring a favourite toy or blanket. Some owners will wear a T-shirt for a day or two and bring that in for their cat. Something that smells of home is comforting when your cat is in a new place.
Background music is provided during the day in the Cattery. Please note: we do not accept un-neutered male cats over 6 months old
As with the dogs, we feed the cats whatever they are used to eating at home, and we provide the food unless they are on a special prescription diet, or a food that is not easily available. They are fed in their rooms so that there is no danger of another cat stealing their food.
All cats must be accompanied by a vaccination certificate showing current and previous vaccinations. We do not accept unvaccinated cats, or cats without proof of vaccination. This is for your cat's protection.
Vaccination required are;
Standard vaccination: - This is a combination vaccination including Feline Enteritis and Respiratory Disease.
FIV (Feline Aids) is advisable but not compulsory.
If you are not sure whether your pet is covered, please check with you veterinarian.
For cats who have already contracted Feine FIV, but are up to date with the standard vaccination, we do have one isolation facility.
